This marvelous specimen of Calcite was mined in China and displays a delicate combination of grey Geothite/yellow Dolomite.
Calcite is a carbonate mineral and the most stable polymorph of calcium carbonate. The Mohs scale of mineral hardness, based on scratch hardness comparison, defines value 3 as "calcite". Calcite metaphysically is believed to amplify thought, improve memory, and promote development.
Dolomite is a calcium magnesium carbonate with a rhombohedral crystal system and a hardness of 3.5 to 4. The color ranges through white, gray, greenish, brownish and pinkish. Dolomite crystals have been found in Spain, Italy, India, Great Britain, Switzerland and Namibia. Metaphysically, is it said that holding a piece of Dolomite, one’s auric field naturally fills in any gaps and purges itself of negative energies.
Goethite is an iron hydroxide mineral with an orthorhombic crystal system and a hardness of 5 to 5.5. Its color is blackish brown, yellowish brown or reddish brown. Fine Goethite crystals have been discovered in Cornwall, England, and Pikes Peak, Colorado. Goethite metaphysically is a stone for going deep within, for finding the link between the self and the Earth.
