The mineral is named for its occasional delicate blue color. It's name comes from the Latin word meaning Celestial. Celestine and the carbonate mineral strontianite are the principal minerals that make up Celestite. The sources of the element strontium, commonly used in fireworks and in various metal alloys. Celestite is found world wide in minimal amounts. It is mainly found in Madagascar and Italy. Celestite is associated with the Third Eye Chakra. It is believed to aid one in prayer and in dream recall.
