Chrysocolla Sphere 3”

This polished sphere from Peru features streaks of blue green chrysocolla that cut through the dark host rock. The brightly colored chrysocolla contrasts beautifully with the darker host rock. 

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper phyllosilicate mineral and is rated between 2 and 4 on the Mohs hardness scale. The components of the mineral may be a mixture of the copper, hydroxide spertiniite, and chalcedony. Chrysocolla metaphysically is believed to help with balance, stress, and handling mood changes.
