Lapis lazuli is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized for its intense blue color. The blue color can make up the whole stone or appear as spots, and it often has pyrite and calcite specks throughout it. Lapis is found in Afghanistan.  Lapis Lazuli is associated with truth and wisdom and is thought to promote honesty, friendship, socialization, and dignity.
