Howlite, a calcium borosilicate hydroxide, is a borate mineral found in evaporite deposits. Crystals of howlite are rare, having been found in only a couple localities worldwide. Howlite is associated with independence and taking control of one’s own life and is thought to increases receptivity.
The geological type area for labradorite is Paul's Island near the town of Nain in Labrador, Canada. It has also been reported in Norway, Finland.
