Quartz with Anatase and Rutile Point (2” x 1.25”)

This Quartz with Anatase and Rutile Point measures approximately 2" x 1.25" and comes from Brazil. Anatase and rutile are both types of titanium dioxide, which are minerals that can be found within quartz. They often occur as microscopic crystals that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. When present in quartz, anatase and rutile can give the quartz a unique appearance. When present in quartz, Rutile can appear as golden or reddish-brown needle-like inclusions that can be seen scattered within the crystal. The term "polished" refers to the crystal having been smoothened and shaped by human intervention, giving it a shiny and smooth surface. These polished specimens are often utilized as display pieces, in meditation, and in crystal healing.
