Kyanite is a typically blue aluminosilicate mineral, commonly found in aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock. Its name comes from the same origin as that of the color cyan, being derived from the Ancient Greek word κύανος. This is generally rendered into English as kyanos or kuanos and means "dark blue". Kyanite is strongly anisotropic, in that its hardness varies depending on its crystallographic direction, between 4.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale. Kyanite is though to raise spiritual vibrational frequency, aid in awareness and perception as well as help to develop positive thought.
Sodalite is a rich royal blue tectosilicate mineral. Well known for its blue color, sodalite may also be grey, yellow, green, or pink and is often mottled with white veins or patches. Sodalite is rated between 5.5 and 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Sodalite is thought to enhance the mental body to aid in clear, rational and logical thinking and increase clarity in search for the truth.
