Woodworthia Petrified Wood is a stunning piece measuring 9" x 9" x 1" it is a magnificent decorative piece with it's earthy hues of brown, orange, and yellow for any home or office. From the Triassic Chinle formation in NorthEast Arizona this piece was collected from private lands adjacent to the famous Petrified Forest Park in Arizona. 

Woodworthia is a genus of extinct tree that existed in the Triassic period, about 200 million years ago. Petrified wood can be utilized for decorative purposes and is considered a collectible item. Petrified wood is a type of fossil that forms when wood is buried in sediment and the organic materials are replaced by minerals, typically silica. The process can take millions of years and results in a rock that has the same structure as the original wood but is made of stone.
