Libyan Desert glass is an impactite, found in areas in the eastern Sahara, in the deserts of eastern Libya and western Egypt. Most scientists today believe that it is the result of sand on Earth having melted into glass following an enormously energetic asteroid or comet impact around 29 million years ago.
Some cultures believe that wearing Libyan glass can keep negative energy away from them and benefits include assisting with healing, peace, and inspiring creativity. It's also supposed to help in meditation by soothing one's mind.
