Kyanite
Kyanite is a typically blue aluminosilicate mineral, commonly found in aluminium-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock. Its name comes from the same origin as that of the color cyan, being derived from the Ancient Greek word κύανος. This is generally rendered into English as kyanos or kuanos and means "dark blue". Kyanite is strongly anisotropic, in that its hardness varies depending on its crystallographic direction, between 4.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale. Kyanite is though to raise spiritual vibrational frequency, aid in awareness and perception as well as help to develop positive thought.
