Amazonite is a greenish-blue feldspar that can be found all over the world, including Colorado, South America, Russia, and Africa. Amazonite is thought to assist with self-determination, emotional balance, and harmonious interaction of intellect and intuition. 

This stone is a green to blue-green variety of microcline. Amazonite is a mostly opaque stone textured with pale milky-white cloudiness or streaking ranging from light green to greenish blue to deep green/blue. It is an alkali feldspar mineral, a potassium aluminum silicate with a triclinic and prismatic crystal system. It has a hardness of 6-6.5 and comes from India, Colorado, Russia, Madagascar, Virginia, Brazil, and Australia. 

Its name comes from its origins in the Amazon River. Known as “Amazon Stone”. It was treasured by the ancient Egyptians. There are stories of the warrior women of the ancient Amazon tribe in Brazil using amazonite stones to adorn their shields, cure sickness and heal wounds.

Amazonite is associated with money, luck and overall success. It aids healing from trauma and facilitates releasing fear of judgment or conflict, finding inner freedom.
