How to Find Your Ring Size at Home
Not sure what ring size you need? No problem! Here are a few simple ways to determine your ring size without a professional ring sizer.
Method 1: Measure a Ring You Already Own
The easiest and most accurate method is to measure a ring that already fits the finger you plan to wear your new ring on.
- Place the ring on a ruler.
- Measure the inside diameter of the ring (the distance across the center of the ring, not including the metal).
- Compare your measurement to the chart below.
| Inside Diameter | US Ring Size |
|---|---|
| 16.5 mm | Size 6 |
| 17.3 mm | Size 7 |
| 18.1 mm | Size 8 |
| 18.9 mm | Size 9 |
| 19.8 mm | Size 10 |
| 20.6 mm | Size 11 |
| 21.4 mm | Size 12 |
Method 2: Use a String or Strip of Paper
If you don't have a ring that fits, you can measure your finger directly.
- Wrap a piece of string, ribbon, or strip of paper around the base of your finger.
- Mark where the ends meet.
- Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
- Compare the measurement to the chart below.
| Finger Circumference | US Ring Size |
| 52 mm | Size 6 |
| 54 mm | Size 7 |
| 57 mm | Size 8 |
| 60 mm | Size 9 |
| 62 mm | Size 10 |
| 65 mm | Size 11 |
| 67 mm | Size 12 |
Helpful Tips
- Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are cold, as fingers tend to shrink slightly.
- If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.
- If you are between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up.
