Fluorite Spessartine Garnet Feldspar Smokies Mica

This all-natural combination piece features many different gem-quality minerals in one specimen.  Mined in the Fujian Province, China, weighing in at 5.5 oz. and having dimensions of 4 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches. 

Fluorite, also called fluorspar, is a calcium fluoride crystal with octahedral growth patterns. Fluorite comes in a variety of colors which include green, purple, white, yellow, red, pink, and black. Fluorite has been found in the United States, Germany, China, and Argentina. Fluorite is associated with clarity, mental enhancement, and improved decision-making. Fluorite is also thought to aid in reducing anxiety and confusion.

Garnets are a group of silicate minerals that have been utilized since the Bronze Age as gemstones, and abrasives, and are rated between 6.5 and 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. All species of garnets possess similar physical properties and crystal forms but differ in chemical composition. Garnets are metaphysically thought to open the heart's expressions of love, passion, and sensuality.

This is a very unique piece that features multiple stages of growth of different minerals. Sharp tan-colored feldspar crystals and gem quality grey-colored smoky quartz were the first two minerals to be deposited. Emplaced on the feldspar and smoky quartz are very well-formed mica rosettes as well as a large light green fluorite octahedron. Lastly, clear bright orange spessartine garnets adorn the entire specimen creating a stunning combination piece. 

Feldspar is said to assist one in detaching from the old, encouraging unconventional and exciting methods to attain one's goals. Smoky quartz can be utilized to gently dissolve negative energies and emotional blockages with a prolonged yet gentle effect.
