This specimen was most likely found in the Bursa Province of Turkey, in the Chromite Mine which is known for its green and orange druzy chalcedony specimens. This specimen is a green and brown chalcedony with druzy formations completely covering the crystal. The presence of chromium and iron within the underlying rock, gives the specimen its green and orange coloration.
Chalcedony has a waxy luster, and is a 6-7 on the Mohs scale. Chalcedony can come in white to gray, grayish-blue or brown ranging from pale to nearly black. Chalcedony can be found in Brazil, Namibia, Madagascar, India, and the United States. Chalcedony is said to symbolize metaphysically being nurturing and promoting goodwill between people.
