Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal with an octahedral growth pattern. Colors vary from purple, black, pink, green, yellow, and blue. It has a hardness scale of 4 and comes from Germany, England, China, Argentina, and the US. 

Fluorite’s meaning comes from the Latin word for flux, referring to the gems ability to flow in flux and harmony with a range of other materials.
