Pyrite & Quartz Wand 4.25”

This Pyrite & Quartz Wand is 4.25” long and comes from the Buick Mine, Viburnum Trend Reynolds county, Missouri. The shiny brass-yellow color and metallic luster of the rough pyrite wand and has a layer of natural quartz crystals coating the surface in a few areas.

The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool's gold, is an iron sulfide. Pyrite is considered the most common of the sulfide minerals and is rated between 6 and 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Pyrite's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold. Metaphysically Pyrite is believed to encourage self-recognition, as well as reveal secrets and memories.

Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals in the world and is rated at a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. It can be found in many forms such as tumbled, carved and rough. It can develop in a wide range of environments and can be found on every continent. Clear quartz is thought metaphysically to promote understanding, clarity, and is associated with inner strength.
