Kyanite Earrings Gold Plated 1"X 1/2"

This item is Kyanite blades with a gold plated cap creating a beautiful pair of earrings. Measurements are 1"X 1/2".  

Kyanite is a fibrous gemstone that normally comes in shades of blue but can be found in greens, oranges, reds, and brown color variations. Kyanite can be difficult to cut because of variable hardness and is normally seen in its rough form. 

 Kyanite is a typically blue aluminosilicate mineral, commonly found in aluminum-rich metamorphic pegmatites and/or sedimentary rock. Its name comes from the same origin as that of the color cyan, being derived from the Ancient Greek word κύανος. Kyanite is strongly anisotropic, in that its hardness varies depending on its crystallographic direction, between 4.5 and 7 on the Mohs scale. Kyanite is thought metaphysically to raise spiritual vibrational frequency and aid in awareness. It is believed that Blue Kyanite opens the throat chakra, encouraging communication and self-expression.
