This Malachite after Azurite Pseudomorph is a gorgeous unique specimen to add to your collection! It's a unique and rare specimen that contains an Azurite structure engulfed in a Malachite base.
In mineralogy, a pseudomorph is a mineral or mineral compound that appears in an atypical form (crystal system), resulting from a substitution process in which the appearance and dimensions remain constant, but the original mineral is replaced by another. The name literally means "false form".
Azurite Malachite is a combination of two distinct and well-known gemstones: the deep and rich blues of Azurite and the green shades of Malachite. The name Azurite is taken from the Persian word lazhward, which means “blue” and is rated between 3.5 and 4 on the Mohs hardness scale. It is believed metaphysically to harmonize the intellect and feelings and help resolve conflicts.
