Seraphinite is a type of green clinochlore, a member of the chlorite group. Seraphinite was named after its resemblance to feathers due to its chatoyancy, or cat eye effect. With some specimens the resemblance is quite strong, with shorter down-like feathery growths leading into longer "flight feathers'. Named for the Seraphim angels, a celestial or heavenly being originating in Ancient Judaism. Found only in a limited area of Siberia, Russia.
Seraphinite promotes living from the heart. It cleanses the aura, strengthens, activates and balances all chakras. Causes old patterns of disease or imbalance to fall away, thus creating space for new patterns of well-being to form. Seraphinite is healing for nerves and brain cells.
