Lepidolite is a lilac-gray or rose-colored member of the mica group of minerals. Lepidolite is the most abundant lithium-bearing mineral and is a secondary source of this metal.  Lepidolite is rated between 2.5 and 3 on the Mohs hardness scale. 

Lepidolite is thought to protect against external influences; give inner peace; help with sleep disorders. Sometimes called the "peace stone" or "grandmother stone" because it is thought to have nurturing and calming properties. Within the metaphysical realm, lepidolite aids in overcoming emotional or mental dependency and helps treat addictions and all kinds of conditions, including anorexia. It is also thought to help those with bipolar disorder because of its mind-balancing properties. Lepidolite is believed to alleviate feelings of stress or nervous conditions while opening the mind and calming the higher self.
