Malachite Specimen W/ Quartz - Tuscon Arizona 8" x 5" x 4.5"

This Malachite Specimen on Quartz Specimen measures about 8" x 5" x 4.5".  This specimen has stunning variations of deep, light, and fluorescent green. From Tuscon, Arizona an area with a long history of copper mining and many mines that have furnished fine specimens over the years. Acicular (needle like) growths of malachite grew on the host rock and were then covered with attractive clear crystatalline quartz. 

Malachite is a deep-green mineral with darker green rings when polished. The rings come from a botryoidal (grape-like) growth structure when polished down. In ancient Egypt, the color green was associated with new life and fertility.  Malachite is thought to deepen emotional life, promote adventurousness, and promote power of imagination and decision.

 Each piece is similar, though no item at Crystal Joys is exactly the same as every item uses a unique stone that is non-fabricated.  Every item at Crystal Joys is truly "one of a kind". Slight variations in color, size and bead shape exist.
