Abalone Shell Earrings with Sterling Silver Ear Wire - Various Shapes

These handmade abalone earrings include beautiful pieces of iridescent abalone shell in various shapes attached to a sterling silver ear wire.  The earrings measure approx. 1/2" in length.  These abalone shell earrings are part of our "Handmade with Love" collection at Crystal Joys.  The style variations of the abalone earrings are single coin, single rectangle, single square, and single teardrop.

The shell of the abalone is known for being very durable. Nacre is the iridescent material thickly lining the shells of the abalone, and is where the strength of the shell comes from. The Abalone shell is made of very tiny calcium carbonate tiles stacked like bricks. The colorful inside part of the abalone shell can be utilized for decorative inlays, in guitars, for example.  In the metaphysical world, Abalone is thought to overcome despondency, insecurity, disappointment, and believed to bring peace and harmony.  

Each piece is similar, though no item at Crystal Joys is exactly the same as every item uses a unique stone that is non-fabricated.  Every item at Crystal Joys is truly "one of a kind".  Slight variations in color, size and  shape exist.
