Large Complex Pyrite Crystal (5.5” x 5” x 6”)

This item is a large complex Pyrite crystal with growth formations of galena and chalcopyrite. Measures 5.5” x 5” x 6”.

The mineral pyrite, or iron pyrite, also known as fool's gold, is an iron sulfide. Pyrite is considered the most common of the sulfide minerals and is rated between 6 and 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Pyrite's metallic luster and pale brass-yellow hue give it a superficial resemblance to gold, hence the well-known nickname of fool's gold. Pyrite is a powerful protection stone which shields and protects against all forms of negative vibrations and/or energy, working on the physical, etheric, and emotional levels. It stimulates the intellect and enhances memory, helping to recall relevant information when needed.

Chalcopyrite is a copper iron sulfide mineral that crystallizes in the tetragonal system. Chalcopyrite is known to have a brassy to golden yellow color and a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale. Chalcopyrite is metaphysically thought to aid with curiosity while seeking the desire to understand life, and systematic thinking.

Galena, also called lead glance, is the natural mineral form of lead sulfide and is rated between 2.5 and 3 on the Mohs hardness scale. Galena is the most important ore of lead and source of silver while being the most widely distributed sulfide mineral. Galena metaphysically is referred to as a grounding stone while also thought to open emotional blocks and alleviate depression symptoms.
