These captivating gemstone polished point specimens come in Mookaite Jasper, Black Obsidian, and Sodalite. Each of the points are approximately 3 to 5 inches in height. They have a flat base and a combination of a rough bottom with a polished point. Each specimen is unique in size and shape with variations of color and pattern within each stone.

Mookaite, also known as Australian Jasper, is a beautiful mineral of earthy, bold color that is found in the outcroppings near Mooka Creek in the Kennedy Ranges of western Australia. “Mooka” is an aboriginal term that means “running waters,” in reference to the springs feeding into this area and is rated between 6 and 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. Mookaite is metaphysically thought to encourage new experiences, promote variety, and fun.

Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock and is rated between 5 and 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Obsidian is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth.  In the past, obsidian was utilized to manufacture cutting and piercing tools and it has been utilized experimentally as surgical scalpel blades. Metaphysically, Obsidian is associated with resolution; remedies shock and trauma.

Sodalite is a rich royal blue tectosilicate mineral and is rated between 5.5 and 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Well known for its blue color, sodalite may also be grey, yellow, green, or pink and is often mottled with white veins or patches. Metaphysically, Sodalite is associated with objectivity, rational thought, and self-acceptance.
