This pale brown and silvery grey specimen is a perfect marriage of iron ores Siderite and Galena.

This specimen is the mineral Siderite with a top coating of Galena and yellow chalcopyrite on the base. This galena and siderite specimen, found in the Herja Mine in Baia Sprie, Romania, weighs 2.18lbs and measures 4.5 x 4 x 3.5 inches.

Galena, also called lead glance, is the natural mineral form of lead sulfide and is rated between 2.5 and 3 on the Mohs hardness scale. Galena is the most important ore of lead and source of silver while being the most widely distributed sulfide minerals. Galena metaphysically is referred to as a grounding stone while also thought to open emotional blocks and alleviate depression symptoms.

Siderite is a mineral composed of iron carbonate. The name Siderite is taken from the Greek word sideros, meaning "iron".

Siderite is believed to be a crystal of positivity. Siderite is thought to aid in remaining calm and levelheaded in times of stress.
