These Quartz specimens have Hematite, Tedrehedrite, and Chalcopyrite inclusions and comes from inner Mongolia, China and range in size from 10.5” to 11.5”. Quartz is a common mineral that occurs in many different types of rocks. Hematite is a mineral that is typically red or black and is often utilized as a source of iron. Tedrehedrite is a copper sulfosalt mineral that is typically associated with copper deposits. Chalcopyrite is a copper iron sulfide mineral that is an important ore of copper. These minerals can occur together in the same rock, and they may form as the result of hydrothermal activity or other geologic processes.
