Magnetite is the most commonly mined ore of iron and is rated between 5.5 and 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Magnetite is attracted to magnets, can be magnetized to become a permanent magnet itself, and is the most magnetic of all the naturally-occurring minerals on Earth. Magnetite is thought to stimulate aligning oneself to higher ideals and help in decision making skills.
