This is a jaw dropping centerpiece for any high quality mineral collection. This specimen comes from Southern Brazil, the same area as the other well known amethyst geodes that grace collections around the globe. This specimen is unique because of the large yellow calcite crystal that is perched attractively in the center of the amethyst cluster. The amethyst crystals are deep in color and have sharp well formed sides. Lighter colored, almost pink amethyst also occurs in this piece and adds a nice color combination. Banded blue agate is present on the edge of the geode as well as the host rock. Measures 12" x 13" and from Brazil.
