Beta Quartz has a structure that is hexagonal; left or right handed symmetrical groups populated equally in crystals.  It is most often found in rich volcanic rocks.  It is stubby, bipyramidal, and is usually muted gray color.   Beta Quartz is often utilized for meditation and is thought to give understanding and solutions to questions.
