Quartz with Magnetite, Cuprite, and Stannite 5" x 3”

This Quartz Specimen has amazing Magnetite, Cuprite, and Stannite crystals on the base. It measures roughly 5" x 3” and comes from China. Quartz with magnetite, cuprite, and stannite is a rock composed of quartz, which is a common mineral that is typically white or clear, and three other minerals: magnetite, cuprite, and stannite. These minerals are often found together in the same rock, and the combination of their different colors and properties can create a unique and interesting appearance.

Magnetite is a black, metallic mineral that is strongly attracted to magnets. It is an important iron ore and is also utilized in some types of jewelry.  Cuprite is a copper oxide mineral that is typically red or brown in color. It is an important ore of copper and is also utilized as a gemstone. Stannite is a tin sulfide mineral that is typically gray or black in color. It is an important ore of tin and is also utilized as a gemstone.
