The specimen is a raw rough geode of Anglesite and Cerussite with Quartz from the Grand Reef mining district in New Mexico. The specimen is 8 inches in length, 6 inches in width, and 4 inches in height. It is likely that this specimen was collected from a lead mine in the area; both Anglesite and Cerussite, the primary minerals, are lead minerals.
Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral that often forms crystals, which are colorless, gray or brown and has a hardness of 3.5.
